I don't think aftermarket support for our cars would go away if a hotter engine is put in the twins in a year or three. Look at the Miata for example. When they came out in 1990 they had a 1.6L engine making 116 hp. In 94 Mazda put a 1.8L engine in the Miata making another 12 hp, and the hp went up again in 1996 and again in 1999. There is still plenty of aftermarket support for the early 1.6L engines in the Miata, 20 years since they last put that engine in the Miata. I don't think we have anything to worry about. If there is a demand for parts, companies will make them for us.
