Why was valve lash not measured when the motor was being built? If it was measured then why were the correct shims not installed at that time? If they went to the extent of having to pull the motor, I assume it was installed already, started, valve-train was making a racket and then it was determined valve lash was not set properly and necessary to again pull the motor? If that is not the case then how did they determine they needed to pull the motor to shim the valves? Not trying to be an ass, or stir the pot, but trying to understand where the problem occurred.
