Divide 25.4mm by 2 = 12.7mm This is because, if we line up both wheels, the 8" wheel will be wider by 12.7mm on either side over the 7" wheel.

48 offset minus 45 offset = 3mm of offset
12.7mm + 3mm = 15.7mm, which is approximately 16mm, meaning the surface of the new wheel will stick out 16mm more than stock.

16mm = 0.63"
