I think fuse #4 controls the tail lights and the side markers.
So, if you turn on your car's lights and the side markers do not light up, that fuse may be blown.
Now the fun begins. Seeing that fuse box, let alone working in it is a challange ...... at least for this old man with an inflexable back and tri-focals.
NOTE: a mirror helps - borrow your SO's; a fuse puller is located in the main (under the hood) fuse box.
I'd suggest you take that fuse out and give it an exam.
Also, your drivers manual gives some good pictures ....

you are 100% correct.
the fusebox for the tail light is located under the steering wheel on the left hand side. it is the forth from the bottom on the left hand side. it is really hard to get in there but im young and still flexible a bit but its a pain.
you will need to fuse pullers that are supplied, which is located in the fuse box under the hood, left hand side, large black box- release latch is on the BACK - the large clip, pull to you and it releases the easy way... dont try to unlatch the front clips!
the fuse puller is the white thing located on the right hand side. just pluck it out and its like a small pair of tweezers.
you will now need to bend backwards and tuck urself under the steering wheel and pluck the fuse out and inspect, mine was blown. the center mental connections will be severed. the hood fuse box will have a spare of each voltage, the correct voltage is on the back of each individual fuse, this one was marked "10"
just pluck the spare fuse from the hood box and replace it in the place of the old one.
bingo, done and done.
everything is working now.

thank you all for the insight and help through this rough process!
