Having been through the whole debt scenario.... I am surprised you are not seeing the blessing in this situation !
You are being thrown a bone, take advantage of it.. Get out of debt. Then get the better car when it's released and you're debt free... And laugh it up at how great of a decision it was.
A little bit of patience will pay off in the long run and you'll be glad. And ultimately, be driving a better car debt free.
Plus if you are good about your loan payments, maybe you'll be able to swing better rates when you do purchase your car.
