When you see him ask him if his prep department gave the car a chemical wash to remove rail dust. Any car transported on a train will have fine particles of rail dust (metal) settle on their car. If it's not chemically cleaned off it will, over time, turn to rust. It's most noticeable on white cars but it happens to all cars that ride on a train.

All dealerships are aware of this but only a few take the necessary step doing this in prepping the car. I think most of them figure the average owner will never notice. The chemical bath they can give the car does not harm the paint of any of the exposed surfaces.
