I waited until the 2013 maps came out and literally just yesterday downloaded the maps and sent the receipt by e-mail to SOA for a refund.

Be insistant, buying a 2013 car with maps that are 2 years old is a ripoff. They should offer to reimburse you for a one-time map update.

Also, for some reason the Utah map wouldn't update, I'll try again later but Utah is one of 4 or 5 states I've never been to so it's not that upsetting. The way it updates the North America maps is state by state, which is actually pretty smart in my book.

I'd offer to rip and upload the maps but I wouldn't even know where to begin, and I wouldn't want to get on Subaru's bad side since they read this forum.
Your thread was the one I was looking for when I found out I had 2011 maps - I was looking in the wrong section of the forum lol (Electronic/Audio/Nav)

I updated mine last night, had to "restart" the install one time; it stopped at 49% but when I started it up again it just continued where it left off thankfully. Have all the states + Canada + it looks like some parts south of the border (I might be wrong about this last part though).
