It's only harsh if you take it that way. It's not meant as an insult, it's meant that it's the most entry level.
Minimalist imo would be a Lotus Elise, or even better, the Ariel Atom. The Vette doesn't have a great interior, but what puts it a league above the twins is the performance. The new one makes that gap even wider.
