i could be wrong (and correct me if i am)
but before the bolts see any shearing action, its the surface mating friction of the hub and wheel that has to fail first. (ie, it's never the bolts/studs that hold the wheel in place, they just provide the clamping force)
now, is the clamping force better distributed in a 5X114 over X100?
