Went to the dealer this morning here in northeastern IL, said the same thing. The Foresters have the same mounts, and they are bad. Subi has replacement parts, and of course they weren't in stock at the dealer. It will get fixed next weekend.
I realized this was obviously a design flaw, so I called Subaru National Customer Support, and they have opened a case on it. I'd expect everyone will eventually have their mirrors fixed when they go in for oil changes or whatever.
