ALL of the options listed for increasing power would make the car more expensive... That's a silly argument in this context.
In 1967 Porsche 911S came with a 2L flat 6 producing 180 hp, fifty years later I think we could pull a little more out of the same package, if they maintained the 86mm/86mm bore/stroke we'd get a 3L, certainly a viable option if not realistic historically, but hey who the hell guessed you could ever buy a Toyota with a boxer in it?
