You could use your argument to justify anything that's illegal or anti social.
I'm only stealing a small amount that wont make much difference or it's only a small amount of old chemical shit i'm dumping in the lake.
Make that 10% of the US population with that attitude and you have 30million + ****heads making a huge difference and spoiling life for the majority who are responsible.
