Revolution (the shop/brand that had Gruppe-M create the intake for them) also lists it for 86/BRZ.
As far as how it looks with the BRZ bumper, see the pic I posted above of Revolution's 86 oil cooler that also happens to show the intake ducts. That might give you a general idea of how low the duct openings hang. Looks as if the duct might slightly get blocked by the BRZ's mustache but it still might get good flow.

I doubt the mustache would affect the air getting sucked in at all. All the air that enters will eventually reach the ducts well whether it is a BRZ or FR-S. People like Sierra who think a duct will effect the air enterng a radiator are really dellusional and seem like they are just trying to find a reason why it isnt good.
In reality a duct or mustache covering something will not make any difference to performance as long as the opening is there. Air will reach all parts whether or not something is in front when you are driving. Otherwise if you used that type of logic with all parts then why on earth would an intercooler be put infront of the radiator

. GruppeM is a really big company and I would doubt that they didnt keep stuff like that in mind when doing the R&D for this car and make sure it works for both models. Rarely do you see parts work for one model and not the other. And when it is that case its ussually because of things like LHD/RHD. Like Oil Catch cans for example.
