There are also limitations with direct injection at such a high rpm. This results in a heavy emphasis on port injection at very high rpm and therefore you are more detonation prone among other things. When I tuned the Hydra to deliver more DI I was making more high rpm power but I started to misfire.
Mostly what you see is the oem exhaust restrictions.
