Local Subaru dealers have sold me parts for my FR-S at 30%+ cheaper prices. Example: the belt that drives all of the accessories on the motor, Toyota $48, Subaru $36. Plastic pop-rivets that hold a lot of the under molding on: 1/2 what I paid at a Toyota dealer.
Labor/service is another issue. I went to the dealer that I bought my car from and asked about an AT fluid change and got 2 quotes 250/400, change/flush. Local Subaru dealer quoted me 220, which I assume was for a change.
Ended up going to the local Subaru dealer for the AT fluid change after talking to the service rep on the phone to confirm that they would work on the car. When I showed up they sent the car back. I had asked to talk to the tech when the work was being done so I could check out the state of the fluids. He called me back and said "this thing doesn't take std ATF"...I said "no, it takes World Standard". His response was "good thing I didn't drain it". Sigh. They didn't do any work on the car that day.
I won't be going to a Subie dealer to have any service done.
