Early adopters (such as myself) want access to "superior" OEM integrated lighting, HVAC, and entry and starting systems. We feel that we're being unfairly denied access to these parts and connectively we are annoyed we were never given an opportunity to get them as an option or within a "trim" package. There are 22,000+, 2013 FR-S owners.
Put another way this is the "Haves" (the few) vs. the "Have Nots" (the many). This has never really been much of a rational thread; the reactions to this topic are deeply emotional.
For my part I spent $2000 to get some nifty headlights and to prove that I could do it and in the process got a reminder about human nature.

i feel the same way now... could've save a bunch of money buying a 13 base FRS and haggle down the price and just put the money for the headlights... its a damn shame...
