Cool. From my perspective the VIN system is great because it ensures that parts correctly applied during repair. With so many possible combinations of options and colors it's clearly the best solution to the problem.

To me the most amazing thing about all of this is how difficult Toyota has made it to get a pair of headlights. I can literally drive a mile down the road and order anything I want from a Subaru dealer including a set of BRZ headlights, no VIN needed.
