I would have loved to have seen the BRZ/86 have a turbo'd engine. It would have made this car a 100% no questions asked buy for me, even if it was $49,999
However I am not totally disheartened by the NA engine. While a standard 2L NA subie boxer engine is pretty lacklustre, with Toyota's D4-S system it is putting out respectable power and should be fairly responsive.
Remember, this car has more power than the original AE86, a Lotus Elise/Exige, an MX-5 and others, yet all those cars were very much loved for their 'fun factor'
So the power isn't really an issue for me. As long as it's less than $39,999 Drive Away, it will be my next car.
