With a turbo motor I think it matters less since the intake pressure is going to be greater than exhaust pressure, but I can't see how UEL headers would make more torque than a well designed EL header...different VE between cylinders would cause some problems. Maybe an EL that's too short would experience some bad exhaust pulse interference effects at lower rpm.
