comparing the 86 to my 180 w/ SR20DET, there is a few positives in terms of engine and drivetrain. being NA and high strung, its going to have better response that the turbo SR, but having to wring its neck at the high end to make it worth while is a little disappointing. reviewers say that they didnt have to strangle it to get to the torque. I guess peak torque is different to 'whats below the line'.
the suspension and handling has been compared to that of an S-chassis and supposedly is very similar, which should provide very similar driving characteristics with the addition of the lower CoG and better weight distribution.
interior is similar sorta theme to the S-cars - spartan, basic with only enough knobs and switches to cover the basics.
exterior design - I would have to get the full TRD body kid and some new wheels to satisfy my taste in the looks department - its hard to top a Type X for a coupe visually.
at the end of the day it comes down to taking one for a test drive. Im sure we are all waiting for the day.
