I've been asked about my experience with Montway, so here it is:
The driver showed up a day early to pick it up, which was incredibly inconvenient for the seller, @
Tanuki who may want to chime in. Then he showed up a day early at 7am to drop it off, which was also inconvenient for my still-drunk-from-last-night friend who was receiving the car. They showed me pictures of the guy, and he looks really haggard, and they said he had a thick Mexican accent and was hard to understand on the phone.
That being said, my car was shipped in the open and on bottom, and arrived perfectly fine without damage or issue. I'm very pleased. And clearly, the driver made great time. Montway is just a broker that hires random drivers, but their reputation is good, so I trusted them to value their reputation enough to not pick a shady driver. The one they chose was a bit disappointing for said reasons, but at the end of the day, his dirty appearance and poor communication skills are non-issues after he's gone and the car is sitting safe and sound back in your possession. It sucks that I'm deployed and had to completely rely on other people to handle my business for me, which led to them being inconvenienced, but... what can you do?
So I would half-assedly recommend Montway to anyone. I could've gone cheaper and gotten better results, but I'd also be at just as much of a risk. If you want a company that uses their own trucks and drivers, you'll have to spend a good 50% more than I did at the very least.
No clue about your clearance issues, @
switchlanez. Here are pictures of the driver and the truck Tanuki sent to me.
