So I finished up my tail lights this morning.

I feel like I should have put a few more coats of red but I didn't want to lay it on too thick and have it start to peel. In direct sunlight they're not as deep red as I would like. They still look 1000x better though so IDC.

Paint Used

Duplicolor Metalcast
Krylon Crystal Clear Gloss
Meguirs Plastic Polish

Method

Mask surrounding area
Mineral spirits wipe down (with gloves)
I did NOT pre-sand the plastic
5 red coats total (3 light & 2 heavy)These went on matte and I got scared. The clear will bring back the clarity.
10-15mins in between light coats with blow dryer
20-30 mins in b/w heavy coats
4 coats of Clear (the last heavy coat started to run a bit but you can't really see it until get really close at the right angle)
The last heavy coat of clear I let sit over night.
2000 grit wet sand to get out the fish eyes
Meguirs Plastic Polish
Meguirs Quick Detailer

Also put on my purple Lamin-X fog covers:
