Subaru is not making very much money on the BRZ or WRX/STi platforms. It is on people buying Forrester's, Imprezza's, Crosstek's, etc.
If the couple hundred of so people who track their cars with gusto suddenly left the FT86 platform, I doubt Subaru would even care.
I don't agree with it, but the reality of the situation is that the vast majority of people who buy a BRZ or WRX will never take it to the track.
