if you are using a liquid to air oil cooler you need a thermostat...if you are going liquid to liquid...ala robi spec solution none is needed, water temp will bring oil up to temp faster.


You can always install an inline thermostat if needed, the units that are scaled down to fit in small applications are...well less than ideal in operation for my money.
