If the RPM's drop too low, and you're lugging the engine, even the stock bulbs start to fade out and turn off until you push in the clutch or give it a bit of gas for the RPM's to go up, and the bulbs go back to full brightness.
You can basically see your car "dying" when it's on the verge of stalling. If that's the case, then there's nothing wrong, but if your RPM's are high, then it is a problem.
