But aren't you leary of the tuners claiming Hp gains, I mean this engine is already stretched to its limits?

Subaru has a terrible reputation in dealing with these sorts of issues that will only affect the majority of owners after 60k. They've done their engineering and know that these engines won't blow up until 60-100k miles under normal driving. So they are getting the word out early that this car is not meant to be driven in its power band. No different than the 15 years of denial on EJ headgaskets. It will be interesting to see if Toyota wants that sort of reputation for their car. Miatas are known to last a quarter million miles of hard driving.

I replaced my seals this week, #1 was gone Never been to a track or even know how to race, just drove the car in its power band. We need to find a tuner who can shorten the closed loop to open loop delay, help with the oil temps, fill in the TIR tables, and do whatever else is necessary to prevent any detonation which destroys these fragile rods/bearings.

Until then I will be keeping her under 5k rpm. Anyone who intends to keep their car for more than 30k miles should do the same.
