Why? They already have the engine and most of the supporting modifications to the chassis, etc. won't actually cost them more to produce. Other than R&D I don't see any reason for it to cost that much more.
I'm clueless as to why everyone thinks that Porsche's pricing structure is a logical one. B/c that's what everyone is arguing for here, whether they know it or not.
