^I hear you there. On Friday I was driving down a 2 lane highway cruising at 65mph. I came up on a full size Chevy diesel dualie going 60mph. I didn't come anywhere close to tailgating him, as I didn't want any pebbles being thrown up on my car from his tires. After a few minutes the opportunity came up for me to pass him on a straightaway (with the dotted line indicating a passing zone). I dropped it into 3rd, signaled my passing intentions, and floored it. Well guess what this asshole did? He decided to floor it too b/c he didn't want me passing him. I had to go up to 85mph to pass him (I think he was going 80 around that point) and since he delayed my passing there was now a car coming in the opposite direction. After getting in front of him He proceeded to tailgate me at 80, nothing but grill/headlights in my rearview mirror. Not one to be intimidated, I hit the brakes (not very hard, but firmly) to slow down to 68-69 mph. I then shook my fist in the air to him, telling him to go f*ck himself. After a minute or so he faded back to his usual speed of 60 mph (I guess). Never saw him again. Obviously there are assholes on the road like this that we encounter all the time. However, it would have been great to have easily blown him away in the pass (with a more powerful car) and never had to deal with any of this BS.

I'm not alone on this, but I don't think you're wrong either. It's just a preference, but my preference doesn't have me shouting to the heavens for something that, if it did exist, would take YEARS to come out anyways. In the meantime I'd be missing out on such a real experience as what the FT-86 is providing. It's an exciting platform that has the automotive industry in a tizzy. A 250HP BRZ will not be that big of news if it ever came out, mostly because, "Been there, done that, next" attitude that comes with having a RWD sports car with FI. Sound familiar? Okay, now 200HP NA RWD sport car? Less familiar-sounding, right? Which one might allow you to feel more unique?
Come on man, you can't be serious. A 250-280hp lightweight coupe for $30k sounds about as unique as you can get. A 200 hp lightweight coupe with a 13.75lb/hp PTW ratio for $26k? Not much unique about that.

What angers me about the people that say there's no need for a more powerful model is that they seem to think they know better than us that want FI and for some reason want to deny us the freedom to chose.
