What's clear from the video is:
A) He's starting in last on grid (or last-ish)
B) He's in a Multi-Class group (not all classes are equal)
C) He's in a car that's probably in a class that runs at the front of what appears to be a very large grid.
D) The majority of all the cars he's passing don't appear to racing him, in fact they look like they're all driving way off line to get out of his way (because they know he's in a different and faster class). They are literally moving out of his way.
The video illustrates the noise of straight cut gears very well but it isn't an illustration of any super-human driving.
