BUT, if this was the problem, why doesn't it happen with the stock units? We've had another poster in this thread confirm that the new bearing Whiteline is using is the same bearing the OEM is using.

I wonder if the welded on washer works fine with the factory caster and camber, but with the increase from the whiteline top hat, it fails. Perhaps the conical washer on the wrx allows for some increased changes, while not digging into the bearing too much. With the welded washer on our spring caps, I would think it would dig into the bearing more due to the lack of give.
