I don't know who has Gran Turismo 5 for ps3 but if you do I'd suggest driving them both on a track like the nurburgring. (The 2012 ft-86 came as gift in my car delivery, I don't know if everyone got it?). Now I know it isn't just like real life but it does give you a bit of the "feel" of both of these cars.
Give both cars the same tires like (sports soft) and turn off the assists and drive them back to back on the same track. For me the s2000 was a bit harder to drive at the limit but ultimatley faster. The back end would easily come around requiring you to be "on your toes" the whole time. It also felt a little heavier going around the turns even though there is only a 20kg difference in the game.
The FT-86 on the other hand felt much lighter and also dartier. It was much easier to drive at the limit and seemed to inspire confidence. It was very neutral but sided toward understeer at the limit.
You can take what you want from this as it was just my observations based on a video game.
