Catch cans will help with oil ingestion but won't help with starvation. A revised oil pan, pump pick up, baffle, windage tray, or more oil capacity will be needed to prevent that.

The starvation simply isn't there. While the engine takes about 5.5L, it'll run just fine on 3.5L (but obviously not recommended).
