^^^ "flex" in the sense that the calipers cannot handle the load(s) of the car under braking as well, and the caliper halves "flex"...

I've rebuilt several sets of Z32 calipers before, and the entire assembly is held together with 4 pins. The caliper themselves are prone to heatsoak, and on the Z32 chassis the aluminum calipers seem to not do as well under repeated braking versus the iron counterparts.

A sequence could look like this:

Quote:
  1. Braking repeatedly
  2. Caliper heat soaks and bolts are overly hot
  3. Under heavy braking, the bolts stretch slightly and the caliper halves "flex"
Keep in mind the AL Z32 calipers are mounted to the suspension upright by way of iron inserts in the calipers.

What it comes down to is this: for purposes of using Z32 brakes on our cars, it works fine with the proper adapter hats and drilled rotors.
