I was in the same boat as you but decided to just do it. You only live once. I did a lot of searching and couldn't find an instance where a warranty claim was denied because of an exhaust and multiple instances of SOA honoring engine claims with minor mods including catbacks. The chances of an exhaust causing any engine problems are slim to none. You're really only voiding the warranty on the exhaust itself.
