I guess Hyundai is trying to use their GC to battle Subaru's STI, WRX, AND BRZ at the same time.
It probably would've looked better if they just stuck with using a black plastic frame across the nose like Mitsubishi, Subaru, and Audi does for their cars instead of that red painted one. But then it would just look like the FT86's ugly twin.
Hyundai gives new meaning with "Trying to kill 3 birds with one stone." Is this a genius strategy or a self destructing one?.... probably the latter
Want HP? I don't think it is hard to stick in a big enough engine *cough cough V6* and call it a day. This car feels more like a Ford than a Hyundai right now. When is the last time Hyundai has made a car better than the WRX STI? Top Gear says the BRZ is the best car Subaru has ever made and that's enough for me.

That picture above that says hyundai usa as I stated above is FAKE. It was chopped months and months ago.
It has already been released that the new GC will have a 345hp V6 and a 271hp Turbo 4 with
NO AWD. This is only a mid refresh of the car. However, the new setups will pack quite a punch, allowing the V6 to deliver more power than the 370Z/G37 and the 4cyl. to pack more power than the FR-S/BRZ. The current model of the GC is looked down upon by FR-S/BRZ fans because of the G37ish weight. However, we do not yet know the weight of the new version, some people are expecting it to come down just a tad, perhaps closer to the 370Z. Still a heavy car.
The current 306hp version is a mid 13 second 1/4mile 4 seater for around $26,500. If the New 2013 model can stay in that price range I'm sure we'll see even quicker times. Not that the 1/4mile times mean everything, but it is impressive. And we do not yet know of any changes that may have been made to its handling characteristics - perhaps some noticeable weight reduction has been done as well.
This is an official image of the new 2013 model.
