225/45 will be 4.5 mm taller than the stock 215. You will not be able to see this. Given you will wear more than that off the tread depth during the life of the tire the difference is no difference at all.

You cannot "fill the wheel well" by fitting a wider tire but with the same correct rolling circumference. That's mathematically impossible. You can move the outside edge of the tire closer to the fender lip by fitting wider tires, new wheels with less offset or using spacers. None of this makes any sense from a performance perspective. It is purely for looks.
