The tire size this car should have come with is 225/45x17. Rolling circumference will be a bit larger, speedo will under read a tad but since they are designed to over read to begin with this actually works out. The actual calculated decrease in speedo reading is 1.3% and the normal speedo error is 3-5% over read.

Clearances for wider wheels and tires are significant as this car is designed for aggressive modification right out the door, heck, the rear shock towers even have holes to permit easy adjustment of coilover shocks should you fit those.

Bear in mind that fitting any better tires will pretty much eliminate the tail step out unless you really overdo a corner and get spooked into lifting off too suddenly (or do so on purpose of course).
