Toyota has always been an industry leader, the company I work for has gone to great lengths to implement the Toyota business model, Toyota have truly built outstanding reliable cars the last 25 years.

There is no latest 01x calibration, it is not official and no dealer will "flash your car to 01x. It exists in some obscure SA market of less than 100 cars in the entire country and is being pushed here in the US as a sales gimmick for Ecutek dealers (which void your warranty if you use their product.)

This is just the common sense reality of the situation. I never tracked or modded my car, never even been to an autocross. I just live in a hilly area.

And I hate to burst ft86club's bubble but not many owners have joined this forum (everyone uses facebook these days), not many who have the problem even know what it is and how could they ? Most dealers don't even acknowledge it.

Do I know the answer? Nope. Does anyone here know? Nope. That's what we paid Toyota $25k for and its time they earn their money.
Not everyone joined the forums, but we have more than enough to know how strong an issue can be, alot of people post ONLY for talking about a breakdown. After spending alot of months daily on a forums you get a glimpse of what is a common failure for a certain car. The DI issue is very very small, there is more people having problem with aftermarket intakes than DI failure. I get what you are saying, but on a business side, toyota will not recall their cars because of this, they will only deal on a case per case basis through warranty, and if I were you, I'd wait or just go buy another car without problem (lol) or drive it the way it is and not shift at redline within that 0.6 second or whatever it is.
