The car makes most of it's torque before 3000rpm. I find it quite responsive, and being NA, throttle response is very good. Between 3000-4800 rpm range there is a torque dip (which I think is your issue). As others have mentioned you can do some bolts ons and get a tune to flatten the response to avoid the dip. Your other option is to try and shift around the torque dip at the expense of fuel economy. If you just want more gobs more torque period either get another car or start looking at forced induction options like a turbo or supercharger. Or buy a Mustang GT...
