For all of you that have been following this project and want the same tablet, Office Depot has them on sale this week. $50 off of the 32GB and $20 off the 16 GB. So $179 and $199 which is a steal. I tried a ton of android tablets with the Bluetooth elm and Torque but the Nexus 7 was the best of the bunch by far.
I saw this deal yesterday and after scooping up a few as gifts for my kids I thought I'd share with those of you building on a budget..hope this helps!

Thanks for the heads up, I just texted my GF to ask how much hers was after seeing this thread (and being in discussion with JPM currently about interior redesign).
I really love this, but trying to be a baller on a budget here; can this work with the stock HU? Or will it (likely) stick out too far? I despise the stock HU and was going to try and find a decent 2xDIN unit with nav and all the goodies, but a tablet seems so much better. I guess, with those prices, I could probably pick up a small 1xDIN HU and mount the tablet in front, but I'm not too familiar with the electronics game in terms of linking the 2, and what the tablet can do standalone.
The tablet CAN do Nav/Pandora/playback/apps(torque)? Or does it need another component to do those? And it will also need a HU to link to the speakers, or could I set up the default HU BT to sync up?
Sorry if the questions are super simple/nub, I'm just taking my first steps in this game and really love the look of what you have there.
