Ever since it happened I have found the best way to verify my cable has a solid connection (until I repin my obd2 port) is to go into data logging/map access mode for a few minutes prior to flashing. If the car doesn't drop connection after a few minutes in map access mode, then I know that I have a solid connection and can proceed with the flash.

A bit of a pain, but not nearly as bad as being stranded.
Thanks, I found if it goes through the Query ECU process than it's good. I'm getting a new cable sent so I'll see if that was truly the issue. At least for now though I'll just leave it alone because my car = fun to drive
