So, I've been told by two different people (one a good friend that loves to work on cars and knows a lot about them, the other a relative that owns an auto shop and does work on cars every day all day) that the crickets should be coming from the rear of my car, not the front, as the fuel pump should be located back there, not under the hood. The noise is quite clearly coming from under the hood and has gotten worse over time. Can anyone confirm the location of the fuel pump for this car? And why, if the pump is in the back, the noise comes from the front? Could it be the injectors instead?

There is a HPFP (high pressure fuel pump) that runs off one of the camshafts or crankshaft in the (don't exactly remeber) there is also a second electric one partly submerged in the gas tank. The high pressure one is the one that squeaks.
