Spent the night trawling through this thread (120 pages!), which is where some of the info for this thread comes from.

They are still struggling with the lack of Google API support (affects RaceChrono & Tasker) and haven't come up with a solution yet. What I believe needs to happen is for us to some how get GApps installed - this is how the CyanogenMod group fix things up for their custom firmwares. Still trying to figure out if that square peg will fit in our round hole. The Cm group install it using a recovery mode, which I don't think exists on our units.
One person attempted to replace the LEDs on their unit but found that they were embedded into/part of the keys - here's hoping the T7019a fares better.
They haven't figured out how to do boot logos yet (I should drop them a line at some stage) however they have figured out a way to customize the boot animation (post #835).
