I love turbos, I just don't love turbos on engines that came NA, and especially not with 12.5:1 compression.

My main reason in starting this thread was actually because of the realization that the Turbo version of the BRZ is going to have to cost more, and most likely thousands of $$$ more than the NA BRZ, and that bump in price is what pushes it out of the range that I think really makes sense to spend for this kind of car.

FWIW, if the BRZ came with a 1.8 L Turbo engine stock, and still only made 200 hp, that would be a completely different car at $24,000. And I'd still be all over it.

I think I have also decided that the ultimate STI version of the BRZ would only have about 30 hp more, but will also weigh 200 lbs less...

230hp + 2400 lbs... That would be pretty awesome.

Okay back to your regularly scheduled programming...
I agree with you completely, but 2400lbs these days is a bit of a stretch; even more so on a 2-4 vehicle =/. With the stringent safety standards that vehicles need to meet these days I don't see that happening on an already lightweight vehicle.
I mean, that's stepping into lotus territory and if you're familiar with the elise and exige you know what they needed to do to make the vehicle as light as it is (if there's anyone that isn't familiar with them google the interior on both cars and you'll see what I mean)
