Catch cans are meant to release crankcase pressure. They are usually installed on high compression motors(like ours) for motor under high levels of pressure(boosted motors).
High crank pressure can cause engine damage. You don't see or feel any difference in installing one of these. It only benefits the exhaling function of your motor.
