In general, the way I have seen people jerked around for warranty coverage... It's not some guaranteed safety net.
Clearly this is in the very early stages of gathering information and sharing knowledge. Lets withhold judgment until more time passes, more instances are investigated, and we begin to see a clearer picture of what we're facing.
