As far as I am concerned, they both seem right. Consider this-- unless you are Japanese, why would you observe that cultural nuance?

Yeah, I am well aware of your examples.

It is just one of those lost in translation cases, not dissimilar to when people directly translate things into english from foreign languages. It'll seem odd to the native speaker of english. Same goes with chinese tattoos that seems perfectly fine to an english speaker but would be odd to a chinese speaker.

EDIT:

Supposedly "No more corruption", unfortunately it reads as "There isn't corruption".
