For those complaining about hills, what I have done in the past is stop then roll back hopefully oncoming traffic hasn't stopped yet. Then edge forward prior to the light turning green. The few hills I have to deal with around my neck of the woods are dominated by the slushboxes. However in regards to this topic Auto vs Manual, with the newer transmissions (dual clutches and rev matching etc) I don't care if the newer tranny is faster I love to drive a manual. I learned how to drive stick shift in an 1950 era Duece and a half... Took both feet and all my body weight to push the clutch all the way down and took two hands to push it into gear and every now and then it would kick out randomly. God help you if your funny bone got hit in the process....
