If you want to know the real reason for the difference in color..

The answer is static electricity. The paint lays completely flat on the metal surfaces when it's being painted. However the plastic bumpers develop a static charge that causes the paint particles to stand on end instead of laying flat. This causes the paint to reflect light differently and there you have it, different paint colors. The fact that they're painted separately only makes the problem worse.
