What Darren said. Of course I had fear of drowning. Simple tip. When you fall in the water, lean back and lift your toes to the surface. DO NOT TRY TO STAND in moving current. I fell off the raft twice during my last time in whitewater in NC but the vest was there, and listen to your raft crew at all times!
Think about having fun and follow simple steps and you will be more than fine.
